0 Saint Joseph, MO Saint Joseph, MO Part-time Part-time $16 an hour $16 an hour Job Summary Under the direction of the REC Center Manager, schedules, plans, coordinates and organizes a variety of adult and children's activities.
Assists in the supervision of events and participants in the programs held at the REC Center during the evenings and weekends.
Limited supervisory responsibilities in the absence of REC Center Manager or Assistant REC Center Manager.
No budgetary responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assumes general supervisory duties and responsibilities in the absence of the REC Center Manager or Assistant REC Center Manager and performs related work as required.
Plans, organizes, coordinates and schedules recreational events and programs as directed.
Assists in planning and supervising special activities, events and sports tournaments as directed.
Assists in managing clientele files, all paperwork, general clerical duties, and answering phone.
Exhibits and maintains appropriate workplace attitude and provides excellent customer service.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Ensures safety and cleanliness of the building and grounds.
Reports maintenance issues/concerns to REC Center Manager.
Aids in training of seasonal employees.
Assists in maintaining inventory.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skills in customer service.
Skills in planning and scheduling a variety of activities.
Knowledge REC Trac or ability to learn within probationary period.
Knowledge of various sports and rules associated to them.
Certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED or ability to obtain within probationary period.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to a wide variety of age groups.
Ability to assist in officiating sporting activities.
Ability to work flexible hours, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
One or more years of prior experience or any combination of formal education and work experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Valid driver's license required.
Material and Equipment Directly Used Sports equipment used in the activities of each respective event scheduled at the Center.
Operates standard office equipment including computer and related software.
There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Work is performed under a variety of conditions ranging from an indoor setting with a limited controlled environment to an outside setting with extreme heat and cold with dust, dirt, snow, ice and noise, while standing, bending, lifting and other physical activities.
Routinely lifts objects weighing as much as 20 pounds, occasionally lifts objects weighing as much as 50 pounds or assists in lifting object weighing in excess of 75 pounds.
Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes.
Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor.
Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Degree in Recreation Management or related field preferred.
Passing of a drug screening required prior to appointment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
