48 / hour Summary This position monitors heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances.
Observes cardiac monitors, recognizes, reports and documents rhythm changes.
Required to perform ECG s as a night shift Monitor Tech.
This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances.
Sets alarms according to guidelines and patient status.
Observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm.
Informs RN of change in rhythm and documents notification.
Enters patient data into central database and logs all patients.
Documents monitor patterns every six hours on all monitored patients.
Performs ECG s on the night shift as needed.
Organizes and restocks supplies.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications All required education is a minimum requirement.
Higher levels of education are acceptable.
High School Diploma and successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Class within initial training period required.
