AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST (TERMINAL) (TITLE 32)

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be AFSC qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Maximum Military Grade - MSgt (E-7) Minimum Military Grade - SSgt (E-5) Enlisted - AFSC 1C100, 1C171 or 1C191 Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). GENERAL
Experience:
Must possess at least one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level; must have education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of this series and grade; and experience, education, or training that demonstrates your ability to follow directions and to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures and that otherwise demonstrates your ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of this position. GS-11 SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Must possess at least 12 months of specialized experience performing regular duties in terminal operations, issuing control instructions to aircraft operating under visual or instrument flight rules or combinations of both; experiences in a military or civilian as an Air Traffic Controller (ATC) in a single ATC facility-rated control tower air traffic facility; initiating and issuing air traffic control clearances, instructions and advisories to ensure safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic under instrument and visual flight rules; conducting ATC facility training; and briefing shift personnel on runway utilization, airfield conditions and weather/ground activities. The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to prepare and update flight following maps; perform some shift supervision duties in a tactical or fixed tower, radar, or ATC; working as a tactical air control team (TACT) leader in a tactical terminal control system (TTCS) or have experiences on deployed teams to remote areas to secure and set- up forward area refueling and rearming points (FARPS), LZs, HLZs, DZs and PZs; and maintaining current DoD and DOT/FAA publications, ATC facility logs, forms, records and situation maps. Must possess certification in Tower or RAPCON. Must currently possess or have held AFSC 1C151 or 1C171.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
